Caring for your piece

Each 667 piece is made from vegetable-tanned leather, sealed on the surface with Fiebing's Resolene. Edges are first burnished with Tokonole and then sealed with Resolene as well.

Day to day

• Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. No saddle soap, no detergents — they strip the acrylic seal.
• Resolene is water-resistant, not waterproof. Blot spills, don't rub.
• Let it breathe. Don't store sealed in plastic.

Patina

• Veg-tan darkens with light, oils from your hands, and time. This is the point.
• UV is the strongest driver. If you want even darkening, rotate the piece in the sun occasionally; if it sits half-shaded, you'll get a two-tone patina (which some people prefer).

Conditioning

• You usually won't need to. The Resolene seal keeps the leather supple longer than an unsealed finish.
• If after years of use it feels dry, a thin coat of a natural conditioner (neutral leather balm, beeswax-based) is enough. Avoid silicone-based products — they clog the surface and kill patina.

What not to do

• No saddle soap, no aggressive cleaners.
• No heat drying. If it gets wet, air-dry away from radiators and direct sun.
